Veterinarians
Dr. Denisa Court, DVM
Dr. Court spent most of her life on the East coast before moving to Summit County, Colorado with her husband in 2001. Denisa lives in Breckenridge with her husband, two sons, two leopard geckos, fish, and yellow Labrador Retriever. She truly enjoys her profession. Being a veterinarian enables her to improve the overall health and quality of life of our animal companions and enrich the lives of their human families.
Denisa decided in elementary school that she wanted to be a veterinarian and began volunteering and working in animal hospitals when she was ten years old. In 1998, she accomplished her dream when she graduated from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Denisa completed further training in medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine during a year-long internship at a large referral hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Court has special interests in ophthalmology, behavior, and internal medicine.
Dr. Court’s commitment to her continued education, compassion for pets and their families, and desire to practice the best medicine have enabled her to provide companion animals with superior healthcare during her twenty years of practice. Dr. Court is very excited about owning Farmers Korner Veterinary Hospital and being able to continue helping pets and their families in Summit County.
Dr. Emily Hokett, DVM
Dr. Emily Hokett is our newest addition to the FKVH team. She is very passionate about providing care for pets, and enjoys forming relationships with their humans.
Emily has always dreamt of becoming a veterinarian, and spent much of her free time growing up with her mother who is also a veterinarian. Originally from Arkansas, she moved to Colorado to pursue higher education and experience the beauty of the mountains in 2014. Dr. Hokett lived for 9 years in Fort Collins where she earned her Bachelor’s in Animal Sciences, Master’s in Biomedical Sciences, and eventually went on to graduate from CSU’s veterinary program in 2023. She has called Summit County home since then.
She loves the close-knit community of Summit County, and is excited to bring high-quality, compassionate care to pets in the area. Whether it’s providing routine checkups or addressing more complex health needs, Dr. Hokett is dedicated to helping every pet lead a long and healthy life.
Outside of the clinic, Emily enjoys getting out into the mountains. She loves rock climbing, trail running, and skiing. Alongside Emily on these adventures is Sully, her loyal 12-year-old Golden Retriever, and Boxley, a curious 2-year-old cat.
Dr. Hokett looks forward to building lasting relationships with pets and their owners in Summit County and contributing to the health and well-being of the community.

Dr. Koehler received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Ross University in 2007. She completed a rigorous rotating internship at the well renowned Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, followed by 2 years of postdoctoral surgical training at Animal Hospital Specialty Center in Highlands Ranch and Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles. Support & Client Care Team
Pam
Pam was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, but after visiting Colorado as a teenager, she knew this was the place she wanted to live. Originally a teacher by profession, her work with children led her to a job at Keystone Resort. She worked at the daycare there for many years. That job grew into running the front desk at the daycare. When it was time to move on the increasing pull to work with animals led her to another kind of front desk, at a veterinary hospital. It was there she first met Dr. Denisa Court. She is very happy to be reunited with Dr. Court and provide the best customer care to the clients and pets at Farmers Korner Veterinary Hospital.
The pull to be with animals has also led her to rescue several and she currently lives in Georgetown with dogs Kip and Nala, four cats, and three parrots. She enjoys taking many walks with her dogs and when able get a little crafty.
Andy
Andy was born in Aurora, Colorado but grew up mostly in San Diego, California. His love of the outdoors lured him back to Colorado in 2007 where he is an avid hiker in the summer and snowboarder in the winter. Andy is no stranger to being a pet parent with his four active dogs and one lazy cat. His love of animals attracted him to working animals professionally for over five years now.
Jen, RVT
Jen moved to Colorado in 2004 after graduating from Missouri University of Science and Technology. There she earned her degree in biology with a minor in Chemistry. For 7 years she worked in a small animal clinic in Fort Collins. During that time she attended Front Range Community College to become a certified veterinary technician.
In 2011, Jen moved to Summit County where she was a stay-at-home mom for her 2 young children. She kept current with her continuing education and kept her certification up to date. Jen started working at Farmers Korner Veterinary Hospital in Dec. 2019. Jen loves Summit County and enjoys everything outdoors. Her favorites are running, nordic skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking.
Lynzee, RVT
Lynzee is from the beautiful state of Utah and moved to Colorado in 2020 to be closer to family. She enjoys her off-time with her adorable cat, Spencer, and active pup Lexy.
Linda
Linda came to Summit County after living in New Mexico for a decade. She is originally from Ohio but decided the West was the best place for her to play. She has an amazing cat, Lebron, named after the Ohio sports legend, and although he is an All-Star Kitty, he does not play basketball.
Melissa, RVT
Melissa grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she developed a love for working with animals. While studying Engineering in college, a localized flood caused animals to be displaced and Melissa felt a draw to help. She began volunteering at the animal shelter where she realized that she wanted to dedicate her love for helping animals into a career. Melissa worked as a veterinary technician and became a RVT, registered veterinary technician, as a result of her years of experience supervised by a veterinarian.
In 2018, Melissa also followed her other passion in life and moved to Summit County in order to pursue her love of the outdoors. She is an avid mountain biker and hiker in the snowless months and loves to snowboard, rally snowmobiles, and skin up her split board when the powder is fresh.
Ashley, CVA
Hey ya’ll! My name is Ashley and I’m so excited to be a part of the amazing team at Farmers Korner Vet Hospital!
Growing up on a farm on the outskirts of Houston Texas, I was apart of FFA, raising and showing livestock, and bottle-feeding countless critters that came our way, kittens being my favorite. This deepened my love and respect for animals, and after high school, I jumped straight into the veterinary field and have been a vet tech ever since.
I have worked in small animal practice, E/R, and shelters. After 8 years of gaining experience, I knew I found the right career, but I hadn’t yet found the right place to call home.
In 2023 my husband, daughter, 2 springer spaniels and I packed up our house and knew we were home when we made it across the Colorado state line.
Since then, I have been so lucky to learn and continue growing as a team member of FKVH!
Bailey
Bailey Schulze is an aspiring veterinary technician who recently joined the Farmers Korner Veterinary Hospital team from her home state of South Texas. From a young age, Bailey was drawn to animals of all kinds, spending much of her time with her family’s five pups, as well as volunteering and working on local farms and ranches. After a previous move to Austin, her weekends were often spent at Fluffy Bottoms Farm in Dripping Springs, where she gained hands-on experience caring for everything from tortoises to goats, donkeys, pigs, geese, chickens, bunnies, sheep, rams, your typical barn cats and pups, and even sugar gliders.
In addition to her love for animals, Bailey also has a strong background in medicine, having worked in human healthcare before shifting her focus to veterinary care. She earned a full academic scholarship and holds a degree in finance as well. During her undergraduate studies, she also performed classical Spanish-style guitar for her university, which only enhanced her love of classical music. Bailey is also an avid reader and painter, and her creative and lighthearted spirit shines through in everything she does.
After visiting Colorado several times and feeling a strong sense of home each time, she eventually made the move to the mountains and is thrilled to be a part of the Farmers Korner Veterinary Hospital’s family!
